About

The Silent Monologue is a living magazine — not just a blog, but a space where stories, reflections, and creative processes converge.

I’m Vonley W. Smith, a filmmaker from Barbados. My journey began with AMVs as a teenager, moved through short films exploring Caribbean culture, and now continues toward larger cinematic projects.

This magazine exists to hold stories of place and feeling, connecting personal reflection with broader cultural questions about our changing environment and the creative responsibility we carry as artists.

Here, I share thoughts on filmmaking, Caribbean culture, and the natural world, while holding space for the quiet processes and reflections that often stay invisible.

Join me as I think aloud, experiment, and document the textures of creation — before the world speaks for me.
